Accident Report
June 1, 2026, William Brantley and one other were injured following a car accident at around 7:47 a.m. along West 7th Street.
According to initial details about the accident, it happened just off Forest Park Boulevard just west of downtown.
It appears that 66-year-old William Brantley was in a Chevy Silverado going westbound along West 7th Street. A Tesla was going southbound when it allegedly failed to yield. Due to this, the vehicles collided.
Reports say that both William Brantley and the Tesla driver had serious injuries. Investigations did not release additional details.
How Did This Accident Occur?
Authorities say that a driver failed to yield, and that might seem pretty open-and-shut. But there’s often a lot more to these situations than just what’s right before two vehicles collide. For example, it could be that the driver was on their phone, and authorities need to pull phone records. Or, it could be that an offending vehicle had an automatic driving or crash avoidance feature that malfunctioned or failed to work as advertised. That would raise far more serious questions that extended well beyond the crash scene.
This is all stuff I can generally experience independent accident reconstructionists to look into, but whether or not authorities will changes from crash to crash. That’s why it’s best that victims and families follow up with authorities and decide whether or not they’re satisfied leaving the investigations solely in the hands of officials.
