How Did This Accident Occur?

A lot of people might read these details and wonder if something like distracted driving or unsafe speeds led to the crash. Those are certainly possibilities. However, I’d urge those people to consider something: Do you have a good reason to suspect those factors, or do you just think that motorcyclists are danger drivers?

I often find the latter is true. A lot of people unfairly blame motorcyclists after a crash before they have any kind of evidence to back up their claims. In fact, I’ve seen situations first-hand where even the authorities jumped to conclusions and blamed a rider for something they had no control over. It then took secondary independent investigations to correct the record.

All in all, it’s best to avoid jumping to conclusions regardless of what kind of vehicle is involved in a crash. Whether someone is on two wheels, four, or eighteen, it’s the evidence that should tell the story. Even if nothing unusual happened here, it’s better to be safe than sorry.

Are there any riders out there or family of motorcyclists who have seen this sort of negative bias? Tell me about it in the comments.
