San Antonio, TX — October 21, 2024, Rogers Adams Sr. was killed and two were injured following a car accident at around 10:00 p.m. on U.S. Highway 181.
Officials said in initial statements that the accident happened in the area of U.S. Highway 181 and Old Corpus Christi Road.

Details suggest that 72-year-old Rogers Adams Sr. was in a Nissan Rogue going northeast along Old Corpus Christi. While attempting to make a left turn, the Nissan Rogue and a Dodge Charger going northwest on U.S. 181 collided. As a result, Adams was killed.
Two people in the Dodge reportedly had moderate injuries. Authorities say they arrested the Dodge driver for DWI, however further specifics are unavailable right now.
Commentary by Attorney Michael Grossman
As serious as it is to see someone involved in a fatal crash charged for DWI, there isn’t a lot of information beyond that. Was the driver intoxicated due to alcohol? Were they coming from a bar? Had that driver been unlawfully over-served? Is there an alcohol provider who contributed to this crash that needs to be held accountable? Were there other serious factors involved authorities overlooked because they were too focused on the intoxicated driver? Have authorities provided a clearer explanation of what happened to the victim’s loved ones, or have they only seen the same sparse details the public has seen? I’ve seen too many situations where a family was left in the dark after a chaotic crash like the one described here. It could be there’s more to this story that has yet to get the attention it deserves.
