UPDATE (January 12, 2024): Jazmin Macias, the 23-year-old woman who had been a passenger in the Honda has reportedly succumbed to her injuries. She was declared deceased on December 22, 2023.
UPDATE (January 10, 2024): The 32-year-old woman who had been behind the wheel of the Toyota and incurred suspected minor injuries due to the accident has been identified as Kimberly Wilkins, of Jacksonville.
Jacksonville, TX — December 8, 2023, David Blakeney and Antonio Santana II were killed and six people were injured in a car accident along Hwy. 175.
According to authorities, 69-year-old David Blakeney was traveling in a northbound Chevy Silverado along Hwy 175 in the vicinity several miles north of Jacksonville when the accident occurred.

For reasons yet to be confirmed, the pickup truck failed to remain it its lane of travel, drifting to the left and into the southbound lane. This resulted in a collision with an oncoming Honda Accord and a Toyota Corolla. Antonio Santana II, who had been driving the Honda, was killed as a result of the accident, as was Blakeney. The passengers of the Honda, one of which was reportedly a one-year-old child, sustained suspected severe injuries in the crash. The four occupants of the Toyota all also incurred reportedly minor injuries. They were each transported to local medical facilities by EMS in order to receive necessary treatment.
The cause of the accident is under investigation by local authorities. The weather and road conditions in the area at the time were not reported on. Additional details—including the identities of those involved who have yet to be named—are currently unavailable.
