Rusk County, TX — April 14, 2023, Latona Leeann Durrett was injured in a truck accident around 4 p.m. on U.S. Hwy. 79 in Rusk County.

According to authorities, the victim’s Dodge Ram 1500 and a semi-truck were traveling southwest on U.S. Hwy. 79, the semi-truck purportedly slowed down for a right-hand turn onto C.R. 468, and then the two vehicles collided. The impact reportedly forced the Ram 1500 into a clockwise rotation and into a ditch on the west side of the road.

Officials report the Ram 1500 driver suffered serious injuries and the Ram 1500 passenger suffered possible injuries. No other injuries were reported.

Reports indicate authorities have not determined the cause of the crash.
