Accident Report
San Joaquin County, CA — May 19, 2026, two people were killed and five others were injured in a truck accident at about 12:20 p.m. on Golden State Highway/State Route 99.
Authorities said a semi-truck was involved in a multi-vehicle accident south of East Harney Lane. It hit a Kia Forte that was slowing down in traffic, causing a chain reaction that also damaged a Nissan Frontier and a Toyota Camry.
Two people whose names have not been made public yet — a 20-year-old man and a 16-year-old boy in the Kia — died in the crash near Lodi, according to authorities. Five other people were hospitalized after the crash, including two with major injuries.
The truck driver, who allegedly fled on foot after the crash, has been charged with vehicle manslaughter, hit-and-run resulting in death and obstructing or resisting a police officer, authorities said.
Authorities have not released any additional information about the San Joaquin County crash at this time. The accident is still under investigation.
