Accident Report
Carroll County, TN — March 27, 2026, two students were killed and four were injured in an bus accident on U.S. Route 70 near Cedar Grove.
Authorities said a Clarksville-Montgomery County School System bus was involved in a crash with a Tennessee Department of Transportation dump truck and a Chevrolet Equinox. The dump truck caught fire after the collision, while the bus went off the road and crashed into a tree.
Two students — a 14-year-old girl and a 13-year-old girl — were killed in the crash, according to authorities, while four others were hospitalized with unspecified injuries.
No other injuries were reported.
The bus reportedly had been transporting 24 students and five staff members from Kenwood Middle School on a field trip to Jackson. Bus driver Sabrina Ducksworth may have had a stroke before the crash, according to a family member, but that has not been confirmed by authorities.
Authorities have not released any additional information about the Carroll County crash at this time. The accident is still under investigation by local authorities and the National Transportation Safety Board.
How Did This Accident Occur?
The suggestion that the bus driver may have had a medical emergency could mean this crash was just an unavoidable accident, but the school district may face questions if there is evidence that she was not given a proper health screening.
I hope authorities will look into the driver’s suspected health issues as part of their investigation of this crash.
