Accident Report
March 30, 2026, a man was injured due to a pedestrian versus hit-and-run car accident at approximately 10:45 p.m. along Flores Street.
According to authorities, a 59-year-old man was on foot at the Flores Street and Grapeland Avenue intersection when the accident took place. Officials indicate that, for as yet unknown reasons, he was struck by a northwest bound SUV of unknown make or model. The vehicle allegedly fled the scene, the person(s) inside failing to stop and render aid of any sort to the victim.
The man reportedly sustained serious injuries as a result of the collision. Additional details pertaining to this incident—including the identity of the victim—are not available at this point in time. The investigation is currently ongoing.
How Did This Accident Occur?
Most people are aware that roads and their surrounding areas are generally more dangerous for pedestrians late at night; however, in cases like this one where the vehicle leaves the scene, I can’t help but wonder if the driver fled because they knew that they were at least partially at fault. Alcohol is a clear possibility, especially when accidents take place late at night, like this one did. However, in order for investigators—whether the authorities or a third party—to get to the bottom of it, the driver will have to be found. More public details about the accident might be helpful so that perhaps someone in the community can make a connection they couldn’t recognize before and help the investigators find the hit-and-run driver.
