How Did This Accident Occur?

Most people, when they hear about pedestrian-involved accidents, are quick to assume the investigation will come down to who had the right-of-way at the time. I don’t want to give the impression that that is irrelevant or unimportant in any way. However, if there is one thing that I’ve learned over the last three decades of my career, it’s that each accident scene is more layered and complex than most might think. If investigators are being as thorough and openminded as they should be, then they will be looking into less likely factors, as well, such as pedestrian infrastructure availability and design, for example. That’s the kind of investigation that will give the people affected by this accident the clarity they deserve.
