Monroe County, MI — May 29, 2023, Kwan Brown was killed following a semi-truck accident at around 12:30 p.m. along North Telegraph Road.
Authorities with the Monroe County Sheriff’s Office say they were called to the intersection of North Telegraph Road and Newport Road in the Frenchtown Township area.
According to initial statements, 28-year-old Kwan Brown was on a Honda motorcycle going northbound on Telegraph Road. A semi-truck was going southbound approaching the intersection of Newport road. Details suggest that the truck attempted to turn left onto eastbound Newport. Doing so, the motorcycle crashed into the semi.
As a result of the collision, Brown sustained fatal injuries. Reports say he was wearing a helmet at the time of the collision. Currently, there is no clear statement on who had the right of way. Details regarding potential charges or citations are also unclear at this time.
