How Did This Accident Occur?
A lot of people see a motorcyclist crashing in a single-vehicle crash and immediately assume the motorcyclist was driving recklessly. As possible as that is, jumping to conclusions never did anyone any good. In fact, I’ve had cases where everyone blamed a motorcyclist for a crash which our independent investigations proved wasn’t their fault. That’s why it’s important to focus on the evidence. Whether or not someone made a mistake, it’s up to the facts to tell the story. If authorities have been careful to do that here, that’s good. But if they, too, let bias get in the way telling the full story, it would unfortunately be far from the first time.
I’m sure plenty of motorcyclists out there can share their thoughts in the comments about how unfair a lot of people are to riders.
