How Did This Accident Occur?

One of the common assumptions I see from folks is that when a residence catches fire, people figure the resident must have done something wrong. While things like open flames and cooking mishaps are common, other possibilities also need to be considered.

For example, possible defects are an issue too often overlooked across all kinds of accidents that I handle. Whether it’s a work accident, a car crash, or a fire, authorities seem to always lack the training, the tools, or the motivation to consider a possible manufacturing issue leading to an accident.

But how can that happen with a fire? Well, game consoles sometimes spark fires. Appliances like washing machines or driers may have issues. Ovens could have faulty parts leading to a gas leak. Batteries might explode suddenly. No doubt people have seen all kinds of crazy headlines about something in the home starting a fire. As such, those possibilities need to be ruled out or confirmed. Hopefully investigators do so here.
