Maverick County, TX — October 7, 2024, Cynthia Valdes was injured following a car accident at approximately 12:30 a.m. along Medina Street.

According to authorities, 35-year-old Cynthia Valdes was traveling in a southbound Jeep Gladiator pickup truck on Medina Street in the vicinity south of the Ferry Street intersection when the accident took place.

The cause of the accident remains unclear. Preliminary reports state that, for as yet unknown reasons, the Jeep failed to safely maintain its lane of travel. It apparently veered left, crossing over the northbound lane of the road before jumping a curb, exiting the roadway, and entering a parking lot. There, it collided with a parked and vacant Dodge Ram 2500 pickup truck. As the Jeep reversed back onto the roadway, it reportedly backed into a vacant Jeep Wrangler which had been parked facing northbound on the right side of Medina.

Valdes suffered serious injuries due to the wreck, according to reports. She was transported to a local medical facility by EMS in order to receive necessary treatment. No other people were involved in the accident. Additional details pertaining to this incident are not available at this point in time. The investigation is currently ongoing.
