Accident Report

April 26, 2026, a woman was injured due to a car accident at about 12:30 a.m. along the I-35E service road.

According to authorities, a 35-year-old woman was traveling in a northbound Mitsubishi Outlander on Market Center Boulevard at the I-35E northeast bound frontage road intersection when the accident took place. Officials indicate that, for as yet unknown reasons, the Outlander entered the intersection at an apparently unsafe time. A collision consequently occurred between the left side of the Outlander and the front-end of an eastbound Hyundai Accident occupied by another 35-year-old woman.

The woman from the Outlander reportedly sustained serious injuries over the course of the accident. The woman from the Accent my have been hurt, as well, according to reports. Additional details pertaining to this incident—including the identities of the victims—are not available at this point in time. The investigation is currently ongoing.

How Did This Accident Occur?

When it comes to intersection-related car accidents, most people are quick to assume they were a result of the ubiquitous “driver error”. That is an understandable assumption, especially considering the fact that, statistically speaking, human error plays a role in the majority of car accidents. However, after over three decades in this line of work, I’m not so eager to jump to that conclusion. Why? Because I’ve seen plenty of similar cases in which evidence of less likely causes ended up being unearthed by the investigation. Sometimes, things don’t turn out how they initially appeared on the surface.

To be clear, I’m not trying to imply that I know more about this specific accident than anyone else outside of the investigation does. I just want to suggest a hypothetical. What if the traffic light gave contradicting signals to the drivers, and that was the cause of the collision in the intersection. Traffic signals are excellent tools, yes, but they are not infallible. True, it’s not very likely, but neither is it outside of the realm of possibilities.

Hopefully the authorities are being as openminded and thorough in their investigation as they should be. If, for whatever reasons, their work seems shortsighted, then a third party investigation can always be brought in to ensure that nothing important falls through the cracks. After all, it never hurts to have a second perspective go over things and make sure all the bases are covered. In the end, the people affected by this accident deserve real answers supported by solid evidence. Vague assumptions based on surface-level investigation just won’t cut it.
