There are plenty of unconfirmed details here I’m not going to speculate about, but one detail does stand out to me. It’s one that, in my experience, authorities often overlook. Reports say only one person in this vehicle had reported serious injuries. Maybe there’s a perfectly normal reason for that, but sometimes that’s a sign of a possible vehicle defect.
It’s quite rare that authorities include things like airbags, seatbelts, and the structural integrity of a vehicle in their accident reconstructions. But there are times where these safety features fail, and it results in someone being far more severely injured than they should have been. Sometimes, the cause of one’s injuries are not the same as the cause of the crash itself, and it’s important investigators are able to make that distinction.
Again, I’m not saying that happened here or even that it’s all that likely. But if investigators aren’t looking into why only one person was seriously injured here, they may be missing crucial details.
