UPDATE (May 16, 2024): The driver of the vehicle which was struck by the wrong-way vehicle has been identified as 30-year-old Anthony Sarao Jr. Recent reports also state that the passenger in the wrong-way vehicle—a 59-year-old woman—suffered moderate injuries as a result of the wreck, as well. The investigation continues.
Irving, TX — April 11, 2024, two people were injured in a wrong-way car accident at approximately 4:40 a.m. along S.H. 183.
According to authorities, a vehicle was traveling eastbound on the westbound lanes of State Highway 183 approaching the Valley View Lane exit when the accident occurred.
Officials indicate that, due to the wrong-way situation, a collision occurred between the wrong-way vehicle and an oncoming vehicle. The drivers of each of the vehicles involved reportedly incurred injuries of unknown severity; they were both transported to local medical facilities by emergency medical services in order to receive treatment of their apparently non life-threatening injuries.
