August 11, 2026, Luis Posadas-Ruiz was killed as the result of a truck accident that happened around 9:30 a.m. along East Houston Street.
Preliminary information about the accident says that it happened at a Penske Truck Rental location off the corner of East Houston Street and East Commerce Street.
It appears that 52-year-old Luis Posadas-Ruiz arrived at the business dropping off multiple towed trucks. While working to disconnect the trucks, reports say a worker operating a tow truck moved one of the connected trucks while Luis Posadas-Ruiz was between vehicles. As a result, Luis Posadas-Ruiz reportedly became pinned between the trucks.
Due to the accident, Luis Posadas-Ruiz ultimately sustained fatal injuries. No other injuries were reported. At this time, the factors surrounding the accident remain under investigation.
