May 18, 2026, Amaya Harris was injured following a car accident that took place at around 1:30 a.m. along I-69.
According to officials, the accident happened along northbound lanes at the US 59/I-69 and TX-288 interchange.
It appears that 23-year-old Amaya Harris was in a Honda Accord going northbound on the freeway. Another vehicle reportedly crashed with the Honda, then left the scene.
Amaya Harris sustained serious injuries due to the accident. It’s unclear if authorities ever identified the runaway driver.
