May 29, 2026, Chace Berry was injured as the result of a car accident that happened around 10:20 a.m. on Highway 46.
Investigators said that the accident took place in the area of the Highway 46 and FM 3009 intersection in the Canyon Lake area.
Authorities said that 29-year-old Chace Berry was in a GMC Sierra traveling northbound on FM 3009. A Ford Econoline pulling a trailer was going eastbound. Authorities claim the Ford driver was inattentive and crashed into the Sierra.
Chace Berry reportedly sustained serious injuries as a result of the accident. Right now, additional details are unavailable.
How Did This Accident Occur?
Authorities say inattention led to this crash, and that is certainly a common factor in car accidents. Oftentimes, it’s cellphones that take a driver’s eyes off the road. As damning as that can seem, though, it’s important to know what the distraction was and if there’s a deeper issue at play than just a momentary lapse in attention.
For example, Ford Econolines tend to be used for work purposes. Was this driver on the job? Were they texting or on a call with an overbearing supervisor? Were they looking for directions while driving? Is this a driver with a history of mistakes behind the wheel which should have been caught in a background check? These questions could reveal far more serious problems behind the scenes that a simple citation or charge for distracted driving might not be able to fully address.
Those are just possibilities to consider, of course, and maybe authorities have already been working to answer these questions. However, in my experience, it might take more thorough independent investigations to bring those answers to light.
