How Did This Accident Occur?

With so few details available right now, this could involve anything from a car falling on someone to faulty equipment to a medical emergency. OSHA looks into all kinds of things that happen on the job. What’s important is know if they’re keeping the victim’s family in the loop.

Too often, I hear from families left in the dark for months when they have to deal with the most complex work fatality laws in the whole country. Besides possibly needing a whole host of legal tools to navigate that maze, they need answers. If authorities have worked behind the scenes to get those answers, that would be good to hear. It’s just not something anyone should take for granted when they could bring in independent investigators to fill in the blanks as soon as possible.

That’s just my opinion from more than 30 years of experience dealing with OSHA and employers, but maybe you have other thoughts. If so, let me know in the comments.
