How Did This Accident Occur?

At this point, authorities haven’t told us why this truck when off the road. Was the driver distracted, perhaps by a cell phone? Was he avoiding an object in the road? Did the truck have an issue with its steering mechanism? These are the questions that authorities must try to answer as they work on reconstructing this crash.

Those answers will come from scrutinizing physical evidence, data from the truck’s engine control module and any available video footage or witness statements. Cell phone records could show what the driver was doing at the time of the crash.

A forensic examination of the truck may be needed if investigators suspect a mechanical issue contributed to this crash. That likely wil have to be done by an independent expert, since most law enforcement agencies don’t have the time or training for such inspections, in my experience.

A thorough investigation is needed to unearth the truth about what caused this accident.
