Bexar County, TX — February 17, 2025, two people were injured in a car accident at approximately 8:15 a.m. along Interstate Highway 35.
According to authorities, a 19-year-old man was traveling in a southbound BMW on the I.H. 35 access road at the Eisenhauer Road intersection when the accident took place.
The cause of the accident remains unclear. Officials indicate that, for reasons yet to be confirmed, the BMW made an improperly wide right turn. This resulted in a collision between the BMW and a Nissan Altima occupied by two 27-year-old men that had been heading eastbound on Eisenhauer.
The man from the BMW reportedly suffered serious injuries over the course of the accident; the passenger from the Altima may have sustained minor injuries, as well. Additional details pertaining to this incident—including the identities of the victims—are not available at this point in time. The investigation is currently ongoing.

When I see reports like this, my main concern is whether those injured in the crash will get the answers they need about what happened. Intersection collisions like this can seem straightforward, but experience has shown me that they often involve more factors than are immediately apparent. That’s why it’s critical to examine three key questions when looking into any serious crash.
The first question is whether authorities have conducted a thorough investigation. Law enforcement will likely document the scene, take witness statements, and attempt to determine why the BMW made an improperly wide right turn. However, certain key details can sometimes be missed. Was there a traffic signal or signage issue that contributed? Did the roadway conditions, such as debris or poor pavement markings, affect the driver’s ability to navigate the turn properly? Did officers have enough time and resources to fully reconstruct the crash? Ensuring these questions are answered is crucial to understanding the full picture.
The second question to consider is whether anyone has looked into the possibility of a vehicle defect. If the BMW experienced a steering issue, brake malfunction, or throttle problem that caused it to take an unexpectedly wide turn, that could be a key factor in understanding the crash.
