Las Cruces, NM — February 2, 2025, Michael Massa was killed and three were injured following a car accident at around 9:00 p.m. on North Valley Drive.
According to initial details about the accident, it happened in the area of North Valley Drive and Picacho Avenue.
It appears that events began as 54-year-old Michael James Massa was in a northbound Nissan Armada. For reasons unclear, a collision occurred with a Chevy Malibu also going northbound. The Chevy then went into oncoming lanes where it hit a Mustang. Massa’s vehicle went off-road where it crashed into a building.
As a result of the accident, Michael Massa sustained fatal injuries. Three other people had reportedly non-life-threatening injuries. At this time, additional details are unavailable.

Generally speaking, investigations will generally be the lower priority. That’s why it’s important for victims and families to consider how their investigations are being handled.
Are investigators taking the time to carefully reconstruct the crash? A vehicle veering off the road, another crossing into oncoming lanes, and a building impact suggest multiple factors at play. Are authorities analyzing road conditions, vehicle positions, and possible evasive maneuvers to understand how events unfolded?
Are investigators considering whether a vehicle defect contributed? Issues like brake failures, steering malfunctions, or safety system failures could have influenced the collision’s severity. Are the involved vehicles being examined to rule out any mechanical defects that could have played a role?
Are authorities securing all electronic evidence? Engine Control Modules (ECMs) from each vehicle may contain data on speed, braking, and steering inputs before the crash.
