According to statistics from the American Bar Association, minority groups in the United States are underrepresented in the legal profession.

While black Americans make up roughly 13% of the US population, they make up just 5% of lawyers. Similarly, hispanic Americans make up over 16% of the population, but just 5% of lawyers.

At Grossman Law we want to do our part to help promote diversity and equal representation in the legal profession. Toward that end, we are offering a an annual $1,500 law school scholarship for members of minority groups seeking a career as an attorney.

Diversity at the Bar Scholarship Essay Question

We are asking applicants to write an essay answering the question: What is the most significant societal change that you hope a law school education will help you affect?

Eligibility Requirements

  • Applicants must be EITHER currently enrolled in law school, OR have been accepted to law school as of the start of the springs 2022 semester.
  • Applicants must apply by Friday, December 31, 2021.
  • The winner must be reachable within 60 days of being notified, or a new winner will be selected.

Deadline for application:

Applications must be received by no later than Friday, December 31, 2021.

*The recipient of this scholarship will be selected by no later than Friday, January 14, 2022.  The recipient will be notified via email at that time.
