A person was killed late Monday night when a semi-truck crossed the median and struck a passenger vehicle head-on on Interstate 74 in Piatt County, Illinois.
According to Illinois State Police, the crash occurred just before midnight around milepost 167 near Mansfield. Reports indicate that the semi-truck was traveling eastbound when it allegedly crossed the median into the westbound lanes, where it collided with a passenger vehicle. One person in the vehicle was pronounced dead at the scene. The Piatt County Sheriff’s Department and Coroner’s Office are assisting State Police with the ongoing investigation.
