Wheatland, WY — April 5, 2023, eleven people were injured as the result of a bus accident where the vehicle crashed along Interstate 25.
Initial statements given by Wyoming Highway Patrol officials say that the crash took place in the early morning hours near mile marker 5.9.
The bus involved was apparently transporting approximately 40 people from Texas to Washington state for a work contract. Somehow, the bus ran off the side of the road while rounding a curve, and it overturned off-road.

At least eleven people were taken from the scene with injuries. Additional details are unclear at this time.
Commentary by Attorney Michael Grossman
There isn’t much information about what happened here, but an early morning wreck involving a bus traveling across half the country obviously raises some red flags that fatigue may have been a factor here. I can’t confirm that, of course, and it’s important to look into other possibilities, even if they may seem unlikely.
But part of that is going to include putting the company or individual who owns the bus under a microscope. Who was driving the bus? Were they experienced and properly licensed? Did they have a co-worker to switch driving shifts or some other procedure in place to ensure they could make the trip safely?
Whether this all was unavoidable, a lapse in judgment, or a pattern of behavior that led to an inevitable crash, it’s up to the evidence to speak for itself.
