Fort Worth, TX — November 15, 2023 at least six people were injured in a multi-vehicle truck accident at about 11:45 a.m. along U.S. 81.
According to reports, the accident took place in the southbound lanes of U.S. 81 about a quarter of a mile north of U.S. 287.

Authorities report that a Hino van allegedly lost the use of its brakes, resulting in a collision with a Ford Transit van. This caused a chain reaction of collisions which involved a second Ford Transit, a Ford F-150 pickup truck, a Volkswagen Jetta, Mercedes-Benz, an 18-wheeler, and a Toyota Corolla. A 59-year-old man in the first Ford Transit Van and a 26-year-old woman in the Ford F-150 reportedly incurred severe injuries. A 47-year old woman in the Mercedes-Bens sustained minor injuries. A 24-year-old man in the Hino, a 28-year-old man in the Ford F-150, and a 46-year-old man in the Jetta were possibly injured. A 30-year-old man and a 33-year-old man in the Toyota Corolla had unknown injuries. Victims of this incident who needed the care were transported to local medical facilities by EMS in order to receive treatment.
The accident is under investigation by local authorities. The weather and road conditions in the area at the time were reportedly clear and dry. Additional details—including the identities of those involved—are not available at this point in time.
