Wise County, TX — December 2, 2023, Trevor Bartlett was killed as the result of a motorcycle accident just after midnight along F.M. 2264.
Preliminary information about the accident from authorities indicates the crash happened in the area of the F.M. 2264 and Lone Tree Lane intersection.
According to officials, 39-year-old Trevor Bartlett was on a motorcycle going southbound along the roadway. For reasons unconfirmed right now, the vehicle went off the right side of the road and crashed into a culvert. Due to the accident, Bartlett sustained fatal injuries. There did not appear to be anyone else involved in the crash.

Authorities have yet to release an official cause for the crash, though they did mention the possibility of alcohol being involved. Just to be clear, that might just be pure speculation on their part. I’ve handled many wrongful death cases involving single-vehicle accidents, and sometimes authorities mention alcohol just because it’s a common factor. Sometimes, evidence ultimately shows there was no alcohol at all. Other times, it comes to light the victim was illegally over-served by a local bar. There’s simply no way to say for sure until the evidence is clear.
In other words, just because something comes up in preliminary police statements doesn’t mean it will end up being true. I always try to help people understand that so they don’t see reports like these and immediately blame the victim for something that they might not have had any control over.
