Jim Wells County, TX — November 21, 2023, two teenagers were injured following a single-vehicle car accident at around 12:55 a.m. along Highway 359.
Authorities said in their preliminary statements that the accident happened near mile marker 566 on the north end of town.

According to officials, an 18-year-old and a 19-year-old were in a Cadillac CTS going southwest along the highway. The vehicle somehow lost control, resulting in the vehicle veering left where it crashed into a tree. As a result, the 18-year-old had incapacitating injuries while the 19-year-old had non-incapacitating injuries.
Commentary by Attorney Michael Grossman
Authorities alleged that the driver of the vehicle was intoxicated at the time. They said there were recommended charges, but they have yet to say anything about where the alcohol may have come from. That’s important to ask after any alcohol-related accident due simply to the fact that many of them involve alcohol providers illegally over-serving the drivers. But the possibility there’s a business selling alcohol to minors is one that can’t go overlooked. Maybe nothing like that that happened here, but with two teens sent to the hospital, it’s important to ensure investigators are leaving no stone unturned.
