Accident Report

Frisco, TX — February 20, 2026, Stephanie Carter was killed and two other people were injured in a car accident at about 11:50 p.m. on F.M. 423.

A preliminary accident report indicates that a northbound 2019 Tesla Model 3 collided with a southbound 2025 Dodge Charger as it was turning left onto Rockhill Parkway.

Tesla driver Stephanie Anastasia Carter, 40, died from injuries suffered in the crash, according to the report.

The Dodge driver and a passenger, both 18-year-old men, were seriously injured in the crash, the report states. Another passenger, a 17-year-old boy, was listed as possibly injured.

Authorities have not released any additional information about the Denton County crash at this time.

How Did This Accident Occur?

Crashes at intersections are never easy to sort out, particularly when one vehicle was turning. Did the Tesla have the right of way to make the turn? Was the Dodge speeding at it approached the intersection? Did a mechanical issue, like worn brakes or a malfunctioning steering mechanism, prevent either vehicle from operating properly?

Authorities should be able to answer these questions after scrutinizing evidence at the scene, data from the vehicles and any available witness statements or dashcam footage. An independent investigation may be necessary because in my experience many law enforcement agencies don’t have the time or training to take on an in-depth mechanical examination of the vehicles.
