Dallas, TX — April 19, 2024, Sherilyn Saravia was injured following a hit-and-run car accident at approximately 8:20 p.m. along Illinois Avenue.

According to authorities, 20-year-old Sherilyn Saravia was traveling in an eastbound Honda Civic on Illinois Avenue at the South Zang Boulevard when the accident took place.

Officials indicate that, for as yet unknown reasons, a northbound vehicle of unknown make or model failed to yield the right of way as it attempted a right turn on a red light from Zang onto eastbound Illinois. This resulted in a collision between the front-end of the unknown vehicle and the right side of the Honda Civic. The crash caused the Civic to veer to the right and off of the roadway where it also crashed into a light pole.

The suspect vehicle allegedly fled the scene, the person(s) inside failing to stop and render aid of any sort to the victim. Saravia suffered severe injuries as a result of the wreck; she was transported to a local medical facility by EMS in order to receive necessary treatment.
