Kennard, TX — December 18, 2023, Sheri Kennedy was killed and another person was injured in a truck accident at approximately 3:50 p.m. along S.H. 7.
According to reports, 59-year-old Sheri Kennedy was traveling in a southwest bound Ford Excursion SUV on Highway 7 in the vicinity of the Main Street intersection when the accident took place.

Officials indicate that, for unknown reasons, the SUV failed to safely maintain its lane of travel. Allegedly, the vehicle veered left, crossing over the double yellow line and entering the northeast lane of traffic. This resulted in a collision with an oncoming Kenworth 18-wheeler. The initial crash caused the SUV to roll, coming to rest on its roof. The overturned SUV was then struck by a Peterbilt 18-wheeler which had been on the highway behind Kenworth. The Excursion then reportedly caught fire.
Sheri Kennedy was declared deceased at the scene. The driver of the Peterbilt 18-wheeler—a 64-year-old man—reportedly sustained suspected moderate injuries; he was taken to a local medical facility for treatment.
