Granbury, TX — March 9, 2023, Shawn Mitchell was killed and two people were injured in a motor vehicle accident around 5:42 p.m. on NE Loop 567 in Granbury.
According to authorities, Ms. Mitchell’s Hyundai Elantra was driving north on NE Loop 567 passing the intersection with Stockton Bend Rd. when it was allegedly rear-ended by a Kia Soul.
The impact purportedly forced the Elantra into the southbound lanes where its passenger side door was then allegedly struck by a southbound Acura TL. The Soul reportedly continued forward and came to a stop on the eastern side of the road.
Shawn Mitchell suffered fatal injuries. Officials report the Kia Soul driver suffered serious injuries and the Acura driver suffered possible injuries.
The speed limit on NE Loop 567 is 50 mph. Ms. Mitchell’s vehicle was rear-ended and then struck on the passenger side door.
Authorities have not released what factors led up to the crash nor what caused the severity of injuries.
