People tend to look at accidents like this and assume they’re open-and-shut. After all, authorities seem to clearly blame one of the drivers. What more could there be to discuss?

Well, let’s consider for example that only one person reportedly had serious injuries here. Was that a natural result of the events that happened, or could it be a sign that the victim’s vehicle had a defect?

I had a case not that long ago where a driver ended up with far more serious injuries than the severity of the crash would typically cause. A closer inspection of their vehicle revealed they had a defective seatbelt—something authorities completely overlooked.

Likely or not, these are the kinds of possible factors a crash investigation should be able to cover. If authorities were too shallow in their efforts, there could still be more to this story than meets the eye.
