Authorities say that on May 21, a collision occurred after 6:00 in the evening when a semi-truck and a train collided on Highway 24 near Madison. According to reports, the truck driver, Russell Minnis, drove through the railroad crossing without stopping and crashed into an oncoming train.
Investigators have not yet determined the cause of the crash but said the railroad crossing lights were intact. 65-year-old Russell Minnis died in the crash. No other injuries were reported.
