Laredo, TX — March 21, 2023, Officer Robin Rodriguez was killed due to an alleged hit-and-run accident at 4:50 p.m. in Laredo.
Authorities said that the incident happened along Cedar Avenue at Clark Boulevard. Somehow, a collision occurred which caused 29-year-old Robin Rodriguez to suffer fatal injuries. Police say that the other driver involved was identified after initially leaving the scene. That person faces a charge for accident involving death.

Right now, there aren’t many details regarding the alleged hit-and-run. However, reports do mention the alleged runaway driver had a warrant. That’s a common reason for people to leave accident scenes. It’s also often the result of things like drugs or drunk driving. If nothing else, it’s encouraging there will be steps taken to ensure there is some accountability for this awful event. It just remains to be seen if those consequences will be serious enough.
