New York, NY — August 14, 2023, eight people were injured due to an MTA bus accident at around 8:30 p.m. along Madison Avenue.
Authorities with NYPD and MTA responded to the area of the Madison Avenue and East 48th Street intersection. The incident reportedly involved a construction vehicle, just a few miles away from and days following a separate MTA bus accident involving a construction vehicle.
According to officials, an MTA bus was going along the roadway when, for reasons not clear at this time, it crashed with a construction lift. As a result of this collision, eight people from the bus were taken to an area hospital. Right now, the severity of the injuries is unclear.
No citations or charges have been reported at this time. Statements from MTA are no currently available as the investigations into both recent accidents are ongoing.
