Nueces County, TX — April 9, 2024, one person was killed following a motorcycle versus truck accident at approximately 4:30 p.m. along Saratoga Boulevard.
According to authorities, a 55-year-old man was traveling on an eastbound Harley-Davidson motorcycle in a construction zone on Saratoga Boulevard in the vicinity east of C.R. 35 when the accident took place.
A Freightliner truck had reportedly been parked facing northbound in the right hand, coned off lane of the construction zone awaiting the all clear signal via radio before moving forward. The all clear was allegedly given and the Freightliner started to move into the left-hand eastbound lane. Officials indicate that, for reasons yet to be confirmed, a collision followed between the front-left corner of the Freightliner and the front end of the motorcycle. The motorcyclist reportedly sustained fatal injuries as a result of the wreck. No other injuries have been reported.
