Portland, TX — November 11, 2023, Martha Ellen Encinia and one other person were injured in a car accident just before 4:15 in the evening along Walker Ave.
According to reports, 55-year-old Martha Ellen Encinia and a 52-year-old man were traveling in a northbound Ford F-150 on Monroe Avenue at the Walker Avenue intersection when the incident occurred.
For reasons yet to be confirmed, the pickup veered off of the right side of the road where it collided with two utility poles. The collisions with the poles caused the truck to overturn, coming to rest on the driver’s side. Encinia reportedly sustained severe injures as a result of the accident; the 52-year-old man also possibly sustained injuries. Both were transported to local a local hospital by emergency medical services in order to receive treatment.
The cause of the accident is under investigation by local authorities. The weather and road conditions in the area at the time of the accident were reportedly cloudy and dry. No additional information is currently available pertaining to this incident.
