Weslaco, TX — April 1, 2023, Mark Vasquez was injured in a single-vehicle accident around 2:24 a.m. on an access road for Interstate 2 in Weslaco.

Officials report the victim was in a westbound Ford Mustang exiting I-2 when the Mustang skidded, rotated clockwise, struck a chain-link fence with the driver’s side, continued rotating, collided with a stationary forklift, and caught fire. The forklift was reportedly pushed into a residence that the Mustang came to a stop next to.

Mark Vasquez was transported to a medical center with reportedly serious injuries.

Investigators have not released what factors led up to the accident.
