Smith County, TX — September 26, 2024, Maria Puga De Osburn and Gloria Scott were injured following a car accident that occurred at around 2:50 P.M. on SH 31.
An investigation is underway into a car accident that left one person injured during the afternoon hours of September 26th. According to official reports, Osburn was travelling in a Ford Focus on SH 31 in the westbound lanes, near CR 24 when a GMC Yukon that was on the shoulder attempted to make a U-Turn, and turned in front of Osburn. Osburn swerved, attempting to evade the Yukon, but was unsuccessful and was struck. As a result of the impact, Osburn’s vehicle went into the oncoming eastbound lane where it was struck by a Ford F-250 with Gloria Scott as a passenger.
As a result of the impact, all vehicles sustained significant damage. When first responders arrived on the scene, they found that Osburn and Scott had sustained serious injuries and transported them to the hospital. At this time there has been no further information released from the accident, including the status of their injuries and whether any charges or citations will be filed.
