Commentary by Attorney Michael Grossman
People often expect OSHA reports to finally clear things up. But even after months or sometimes more than a year of work, families can be left asking the same questions they were on day one. Add on top of that the fact Texas work fatality law is more complex than in any other state in the country. This combination can understandably leave families desperate for answers and a path toward a resolution. That’s why I’ve always tried to shine a light on Texas work accidents and the possible avenues available to families. If they’re left relying solely on the whims of the authorities, they’re more likely to end up empty-handed and unresolved. Actively seeking out experienced allies and independent investigators, though, can lead to far more satisfactory resolutions. It wouldn’t be unusual if similar steps led to similar outcomes here.
