Nolan County, TX — April 9, 2024, Louise Ellsworth and one other person were injured in a car accident at approximately 11:30 a.m. along Interstate Highway 20.
According to authorities, 64-year-old Louise Ellsworth and 35-year-old Matthew Ellsworth were traveling in a westbound Lexus SUV on Interstate Highway 20 in the vicinity east of the C.R. 109 overpass when the accident took place.

Traffic in the area at the time was reportedly slowing as cars merged to a single lane due to construction. Officials indicate that, for as yet unknown reasons, a westbound Dodge Ram 1500 pickup truck failed to slow appropriately for traffic conditions. This resulted in a collision between the front-end of the pickup truck and the rear-end of the SUV. The crash caused the SUV to be pushed forward as it spun 180 degrees, resulting in a secondary collision between the rear-end of the SUV and the rear-end of a westbound Honda Element occupied by two women ages 39 and 67.
Louise Ellsworth suffered reportedly severe injuries as a result of the wreck. The 67-year-old from the Honda received apparently minor injuries, as well. They were each transported to local medical facilities by EMS in order to receive necessary treatment. No other injuries have been reported.
Additional details pertaining to this incident are not available at this point in time. The investigation is currently ongoing.
