Denton County, TX — August 14, 2024, Linsdey Belcher and another woman were injured in a motorcycle accident at approximately 10:00 p.m. along Witt Road.
According to authorities, 37-year-old Lindsey Belcher and a 38-year-old woman were traveling on a northbound Harley-Davidson motorcycle on Witt Road approaching the Chandler Club Way intersection when the accident took place.

Officials indicate that, for reasons yet to be confirmed, the motorcycle failed to safely navigate a curve in the roadway. It was consequently involved in a single-vehicle accident. Belcher reportedly suffered moderate injuries due to the wreck. The other woman, however, seems to have sustained serious injuries. They were each transported to a local medical facility by EMS in order to receive necessary treatment. Additional details pertaining to this incident are not available at this point in time.
Commentary by Attorney Michael Grossman
When serious injuries occur in a motorcycle accident like the one reported on Witt Road, early reports often leave key questions unanswered. Having spent more than 30 years investigating complex crashes throughout Texas, I know that truly understanding what happened requires asking the right questions.
One critical question is whether the authorities conducted a thorough investigation of the accident. It’s easy to assume that a motorcycle simply “failed to navigate a curve,” but real investigations dig deeper—evaluating roadway conditions, signage, lighting, and potential environmental hazards that might have contributed. Without that deeper look, crucial factors could go unnoticed.
Another important question is whether a vehicle defect played a role in the crash. Motorcycle accidents can be caused or worsened by mechanical failures, such as problems with tires, brakes, or steering components. A proper post-accident inspection could reveal whether a defect contributed to the riders losing control.
Finally, it’s essential to determine whether all available electronic data has been collected. While motorcycles generally have fewer data recording systems than cars, some models do capture critical information like speed and braking activity. Recovering and analyzing that data can be vital in accurately reconstructing the moments leading up to the crash.
Answering these three questions is critical to making sure that no stone is left unturned in understanding the causes of a crash like this. Serious wrecks deserve serious investigation, not assumptions. Getting clear answers to these questions is crucial for those seeking to understand what happened and why—and it’s the least that can be done to help those affected find the clarity and closure they deserve.
