Accident Report

According to a press release from the Harris County Sheriff’s Office, the incident happened just east of the FM 1960 and North Lake Houston Parkway intersection.

It appears that Khaled Mohammed Ismael was on foot at the time and reportedly attempting to cross FM 1960. While doing so, multiple vehicles struck Ismael, including a blue Ford F-150, a Cadillac, a Nissan, and two pickups. Authorities say that the Ford F-150 and the other two pickups left the scene while the Cadillac and Nissan drivers stayed.

Due to the accident, Khaled Ismael was killed. Authorities have not said if they’ve identified or located any of the drivers who left the scene.

How Did This Accident Occur?

It’s certainly important to know what factors led to the initial collision involving the Ford, especially considering it appears that driver had something they didn’t want authorities to find out about. In my experience, that’s usually why drivers leave accident scenes. And with two additional drivers reportedly leaving the scene, authorities should be doing everything in their power to publicize this series of events.

Generally speaking, the public is one of the best tools authorities have available to them following a hit-and-run. Someone in the community may be able to connect the dots and come forward with new information or even a name for authorities to follow up on. Once that happens, they can focus their efforts entirely on what happened in the accident and whether or not the factors that led to the drivers fleeing the scene played a role in the accident itself.

If anyone thinks they may have useful information, they should come forward as soon as possible.
