Commentary by Attorney Michael Grossman
A common concern with single-vehicle wrecks is whether or not authorities took the time to be thorough rather than jumping to conclusions. It’s not that specific details here make me doubt investigations into this particular crash. It’s just that I’ve been handling cases for over thirty years, and I’ve lost count of how many times folks came to me with a crash where authorities were more concerned with finding someone to blame than with actually gathering clear evidence.
That’s when folks start to feel their side of the story isn’t being represented fairly, so it’s only natural they would want independent investigators to look into things. Generally speaking, I’ve always found independent accident reconstructionists to be far more effective at considering all kinds of possible factors—even uncommon ones—and ensuring the evidence is able to speak for itself. That way, nothing important will slip through the cracks, and those affected by the crash can feel confident nothing is being misrepresented or overlooked. Right now, I don’t see any reason why such efforts into this crash would prove otherwise.
