With a complex chain of events like this, it may be important to follow up with authorities and find out how thorough their accident investigations have been. Between having a chaotic accident scene and some reports saying authorities were considering charges here, the notion of simply getting the victims and families clear answers may take a back seat. Generally speaking, that could allow important extenuating circumstances to slip through the cracks. People deserve to know they’re going to get the full story after a serious accident, so it authorities can’t show they’re covering this incident from all angles, it may be that independent investigators would show there’s more to this story that still needs attention.
