Upton County, TX — November 26, 2024, Joel Garza Jr. was killed and Ruben Villegas-Rodriquez was injured in a truck accident about 1:23 p.m. on State Highway 349 south of Midland.
Two vehicles crashed on State Highway 349 near mile marker 376 in Upton County, according to authorities.
Police said Garza, 28, was driving northbound in a Nissan Altima. A Western Star 18-wheeler, reportedly driven by Ruben Villegas-Rodriquez, was travelling southbound. For reasons unknown at this point, the two vehicle collided.
Garza, an Edinburg, TX, resident, was pronounced dead at the scene, while Villegas-Rodriquez, 60, suffered minor injuries. There were no other reported injuries.
