According to official reports, Underwood’s vehicle was, for unknown reasons, traveling east in the westbound lanes of Highway 2 when it struck an SUV resulting in significant damage to the vehicles.
When first responders arrived on the scene they found Underwood without signs of life and he was pronounced deceased at the scene, while the occupants of the SUV sustained non-critical injuries.
