UPDATE (June 3, 2024): The woman who lost her life as a result of this accident has been identified as 71-year-old Jane Schwarz.
Waco, TX — May 15, 2024, a woman was killed following a multi-vehicle car accident just before 9:30 p.m. along Interstate Highway 35.
According to authorities, a Ford F-150 was traveling on I.H. 35 in the vicinity of Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard when the accident took place.
Officials indicate that, for as yet unknown reasons, the pickup truck failed to safely maintain its lane of travel. It reportedly veered to the side where it collided with a wall before re-entering traffic. There, it was involved in a collision with an 18-wheeler. Following that collision, a Hyundai Sonata reportedly crashed into the rear-end of the 18-wheeler.
The 71-year-old woman who had been a passenger in the Sonata suffered fatal injuries as a result of the wreck; she was declared deceased at the scene. No other injuries have been reported. Additional details pertaining to this incident—including the identity of the victim—are not available at this point in time. The investigation is currently ongoing.
